    1What is the Northern Study Hub?
    The Northern Study Hub is part of the Australian Government’s Suburban University Study Hub program, designed to bring campus-like facilities closer to where students live and work. From two locations (Broadmeadows and Epping) it offers tech-equipped spaces and friendly staff who specialise in supporting tertiary students, making study more accessible, affordable, and connected.
    2Where is the Northern Study Hub?
    The Northern Study Hub is across two sites in Broadmeadows and Epping. Our locations Broadmeadows site is at the front of the Hume City Council Offices, 1079 Pascoe Vale Road, Broadmeadows. Enter the Hub from Tanderrum Way (opposite the bus stop) and come to the pink door on the right. Our Epping site is inside the Melbourne Polytechnic Library Building (Building M), corner of Cooper St and Dalton Road, Epping. Please find us in Room M102, look for the pink doors on the left as you enter the Library.
    3Can I catch public transport to the Northern Study Hub sites?
    Yes, both sites are close to train stations and bus stops.
    4Is parking free at the Northern Study Hub sites?
    At Broadmeadows, students can park for free at Broadmeadows Central for a maximum of 2 hours in the underground carpark and up to 4 hours in other carparks. The time is doubled for those with an Accessible Parking Permit. At Epping, parking rates apply between 7.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday. Parking is free during weekends and after 5.00pm.
    5Who can use the Northern Study Hub?
    The Hub is open to students aged 18+ and enrolled in a publicly funded Australian university or tertiary institution. Not sure if you're eligible? Drop by the Hub or contact our team. We're happy to help!

    7How do I register to use the Hub?
    Just complete a short pre-registration form on our website. Once submitted, you’ll receive an email with the next steps and instructions for accessing the Hub.
    8Is it free to use the Northern Study Hub?
    Yes! Access to the Northern Study Hub is free for eligible students.
    9When is the Northern Study Hub open?
    Registered students receive an access card and can use this to access the Hub as follows: Mon-Fri: 7.30am-9pm; Sat-Sun: 10am-4pm
    10When are staff available at the Northern Study Hub?
    The Hub’s staffed hours are: Mon-Tue-Fri: 9am-5pm; Wed-Thu: 10am-7.30pm ; Sat: 10am-2pm
    11What is the process for accessing the Hub outside staffed hours?
    Registered students use their access (swipe) card to enter the Hub each time they enter- whether there is someone working in the Hub at the time or not. So make sure you bring your card! For security reasons, we can’t swipe you in and you should never allow another student to enter behind you (everyone must swipe themselves in). This keeps you safe, and the Hub safe.
    12What facilities are there at the Hub?
    Students can access safe and secure study spaces for independent and small group study, bookable online learning rooms and meeting rooms, high speed internet, printer, computer and BYOD facilities, lower sensory zones for those who prefer to study with less distraction, lockers to keep your belongings in, and shared kitchenette facilities.
    13What student support services are available at the Hub?
    We offer learning support appointments and events that help with study transitions and completion, academic skills, wellbeing, careers and navigating university systems. We also connect you to your university’s services and refer you to local support if needed.
    14How can I book a room or a learning support appointment?
    Just go to the Broadmeadow or Epping tab and scroll down to book at your preferred site.
    15Can I bring my family members or friends to the Hub?
    The Hub is for registered users only. Should your friend or family member be eligible, they are welcome to come in with you and register on the day.
