Sam Sterling
Director
Sam has worked in universities and TAFEs in all kinds of roles- from lecturing and course writing to student retention and support, as well as in management roles. She really understands how unis work and can help students to navigate the (at times weird and wonderful) systems and processes that exist already (but can be hard to find) to support their success during study and afterwards. I am also a scientist and can help you with technical report writing, telling a story via data and developing research skills.
Andrea Bowen
Learning Support Advisor
With a background in Student Advising - AccessAbility, Andrea is passionate about empowering students to realise their full potential. She strives to help students build their confidence and successfully navigate their university journey. Andrea can help with study skills, time management, and navigating university life.
Anna Bailey
Learning Support Advisor
Anna has worked in various tertiary student support roles, primarily focussing on Academic Skills. Anna can help with assignment writing, time management, note-taking and other essential academic communication skills. Above all else, Anna loves supporting students to develop their confidence, capability and independence, and achieve success at uni.
Diane Sardo
Learning Support Advisor
Diane’s strengths come from a working career in Recruitment, Employment Services and Partnership Development. She is focussed on supporting students by assisting with cover letter/resume writing, by instilling confidence and mentorship, linking students to industry partners and networks and offering guidance through navigating life's changing seasons.
Hoa Do

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT DO STUDENTS SAY ABOUT THE HUB?
At the Hub, students are at the heart of everything we do. Read real experiences from real students who have used our spaces and services to study, connect and thrive.
"I love that it is a clean, safe space for myself to come and study. Located conveniently near the train station and with ample parking. Completing my degree online, I don't have a campus to visit. The Northern Study Hub helps me feel connected with other uni students whilst still being close to home. Thanks!"
"This place is the dream for every student. The staff at NSH is the sweetest and most helpful; the hub has computers, charging plugs and even rooms that we can book during the last exam days. Also, it’s near public transport. I have been a regular student here and I absolutely love it."
"What I love most about the Northern Study Hub is how supportive and accessible it feels. The staff are amazing, and the added security makes it feel safe and comfortable. It’s made a real difference to my study routine."
"It was really nice to meet you and I appreciate you taking the time to show me around the Study Hub. This is honestly an amazing initiative and I hope other University students make use of this space and support. "
"I have wanted to find such a place to study, especifically one that is not too far from my home. I think this fits it."
